So I've just finished reading Jimmy Carter's book 'Our Endangered Values - America's moral crisis'. It was a fascinating read. More comments to follow.

Jimmy Carter, despite his reputation as a poor president, is a terrific person. He won a Nobel peace prize and, if you look at his accomplishment beyond the president (it's been 27 years),they are quite remarkable. He's a philanthropist extraordinaire. The Carter foundation is all about world peace and world health. I saw him on campus here in Washington, and he still is a remarkable speaker. He commands such respect, he gets a standing ovation for walking in the room. Most of that respect was for what he did AFTER being president.
